3/24/2017 7:00 PM   Evening of Music with Becki Hedirck
Evening of Music with Becki Hedrick March 24 at 7:00pm The Gathering Place Coffee Shop Paris Presbyterian Church 127 Steubenville Pike Paris (Burgettstown), PA Enjoy an evening of music and ministry with Becki Hedrick. Many of you will remember how Becki blessed us at The Faithful Women's Conference 2016. We are excited to have her join us in The Gathering Place Coffee Shop for an evening of music and fellowship. Come and relax and meet new friends from the community here. We look forward to having you join us. Here is Becki's bio: Bio Information – Becki Hedrick An average mom and housewife on most days, Becki Hedrick gets the call and trades in her toilet brush and dishpan hands for an acoustic guitar and a microphone, transforming into a songsmith whose melodies draw you in and lyrics grab you at heart level. Prepare, as you listen, to be carried on a ride that is equal parts “great adventure” and “deep soul searching” while her songs penetrate into the hidden places of the heart. After a life-changing encounter with Jesus as a teen, Becki remembers offering her fledgling musical talents to God, “… however You can use it…” She started writing songs out of her growing relationship with Jesus, sharing them with friendsand family, and before long, publicly. Since those days, Becki shares her music in a variety of ways – in churches, coffeehouses, for retreats, conferences, house concerts, special events - and has been heard live on radio, internet, and TV. She serves as a worship leader in both small and large groups, within her local church, and in participation with other ministries as needed. Becki views her songs as one way to express God’s transforming love in her own life and to articulate the message of the gospel. “The reason I share my songs is that I hope they will draw people closer to Jesus. If I can convey even just a glimpse of Him – who He really is – it could mean an opportunity for people to connect with Him in a way that could transform absolutely everything. I know thatwithout the Holy Spirit my songs are just songs. But when He takes hold of them He does extraordinary things with them.”Becki is married to Scott Hedrick and is the mother of four amazing kids. Among her experiences, she serves as the Wheeling, WV coordinator for the Ohio Valley National Day of Prayer Task Force, has been involved in the Lay Witness Mission ministry, worked as a youth group leader, a Registered Nurse, a homemaker/stay-at-home mom, homeschool teacher, private care giver, and memory care assistant with the memory impaired. Some of her favorite things are family outings to Cooper’s Rock State Forest, conversations on the porch with friends, sitting arounda campfire, singing old time music to residents in area nursing homes, and learninghow to play Pickleball. She and Scott co-lead a weekly home fellowship group. Becki is focusing on concert ministry and is happy to share her CD, “Call of the Cross”. Look at the discussion on this page for more details. 3/29/2017 12:00 PM   Coffee with the Author - Roberta L. Young
Coffee with the Author - Roberta L. Young March 29th at Noon The Gathering Place Coffee Shop Paris Presbyterian Church 127 Steubenville Pike Paris (Burgettstown) PA Enjoy a light lunch followed by Author Roberta L. Young's discussing how she was inspired to write her book God's Poiema His Workmanship Ephesians 2:10. She will be selling and signing her books at this event. We look forward to having you join us. This event is opened to all. Bring a friend and enjoy a time of food, fellowship and getting insight into writing a book. "You think what you feel; you say what you think. Words are nothing less than expressions of the heart: "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." (Matthew 12:34) Roberta Young's poetry has its origin from her heart--what she feels (and knows), what she has experienced from an intimate relationship with the lover of her soul -- Jesus Christ, Ephesians 2:10 says, "We are His worksmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." In this verse, the word "workmanship" comes from the Greek root word "poiema", a thing that is made; created; a workmanship, and where we get our word poem. Each one of us has been given gifts, talents and abilities that enable us to do the "good works" that God "hath before ordained",or planned for us to do, "that we should walk in them." We are the rhythm, the meter of His heartbeat. Find encouragement, hope, peace and joy while reading this book of poetry, for the poet is His workmanship, His poem. Robbie Young is a short-term missionary with One Mission Society (OMS) and their Country Prayer Champion for Uruguay. S.A. She writes a monthly newsletter worldwide to prayer warriors who share her burden for Uruguay. She and her husband, John, live in Steubenville, Ohio, where they attend Finley United Methodist Church. She enjoys reading, singing, cross-stitiching, and traveling backcountry roads with her husband. She has three children, each active in church ministry, and eight grandchildren. Robbie has been writing poetry for thirty-nine years." For more details see our Events Page on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/1140501706075409/
